man this is wonderful. we recently added table BBCode that you can now use to do whatever you like. they work just like HTML tags so if you know html it should come easy to you. now i know 13ack.stab said something about adding examples in his Available BBCodes thread but i thought i would show you a few examples myself and then show you piratical applications.

there are 5 main tags needed to make table and those are
  • {table} - main tag
  • {th} - header (optional)
  • {tr} - row
  • {td=X} - collumn with X being the percent width of the column (needed atleast once)
  • {td2} - used for the rest of the rows

NOTE: you must NOT be in rich text mode when making tables!

to start a table you first use the {table} tags, then you can start adding as my rows as you want with the {tr} tags

Example 1: Code
[table]
[tr][th]Header 1[/th][th]Header 2[/th][/tr]
[tr][td=25]Column with 25% Width[/td][td=75]Column with 75% Width[/td][/tr]
[/table]

Example 1: Test

Header 1Header 2
Column with 25% WidthColumn with 75% Width

now if you want more than 1 row with the same width you can to use the {td2} tags

Example 2: Code
[table]
[tr][th]Header 1[/th][th]Header 2[/th][/tr]
[tr][td=50]Row 1 Column with 50% Width[/td][td=50]Row 1 Column with 50% Width[/td][/tr]
[tr][td2]Row 2 Column with 50% Width[/td2][td2]Row 2 Column with 50% Width[/td2][/tr]
[/table]

Example 2: Test

Header 1Header 2
Row 1 Column with 50% WidthRow 1 Column with 50% Width
Row 2 Column with 50% WidthRow 2 Column with 50% Width

and now is when you might want to use other BBCode tags inside the table to make it look the way you want

Example 3: Code
[table]
[tr][th]Header 1[/th][th]Header 2[/th][/tr]
[tr][td=50][size=5]Row 1 Column with 50% Width[/size][/td][td=50][color=red]Row 1 Column with 50% Width[/color][/td][/tr]
[tr][td2][center]Row 2 Column with 50% Width[/center][/td2][td2][s]Row 2 Column with 50% Width[/s][/td2][/tr]
[tr][td2][i]Row 3 Column with 50% Width[/i][/td2][td2][right]Row 3 Column with 50% Width[/right][/td2][/tr]
[/table]

Example 3: Test

Header 1Header 2
Row 1 Column with 50% WidthRow 1 Column with 50% Width

Row 2 Column with 50% Width

Row 2 Column with 50% Width
Row 3 Column with 50% Width

Row 3 Column with 50% Width

Now if you want to see some real examples look at my sig. i used a table to center the text on either half. for an extremely advanced application you can take a look at My Anime Index

I've used a similar table bbcode at some other forums, nice addition although honestly there isn't much use in it usually.

I feel like you're just showing off everything that I wanted to add to the BBCode thread. -_-

Still, you did a very nice job explaining tables and their functionality.
