I'm trying to convert some audiobooks into mp3. However, everything craps out on me <_<

The origin file is a .WMA and i'm trying to convert it into a .MP3

Anyone got some good freeware to do the job? I like eac3to but i couldn't make it work :/

Audacity can do what you want, but you'll need to additionally grab the LAME and FFmpeg plug-ins as well.

It doesn't look like Eac3to works with WMA files, so no go there. You could always import them into Audacity and then export them to MP3, but that'll be a serious pain in the ass if you need to convert a lot of files. A quick search turned up Free Mp3 Wma Converter from Koyote Soft (whoever they are). You can try it, though I've never used it myself.

WinFF seems to be capable of encoding audio.

"I'd like to share a revelation I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to another area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure." - Agent Smith´╗┐

Yeah. I tend to use dBpoweramp for batch audio conversions, but it isn't free.

The most popular one at the time was the AppGeeker video converter. It converts most of video/audio files.

http://www.appgeeker.com

You may want to check it out and see if it works for you.

You can try Format Factory(for windows) and handbreak(for mac). I did not use them, I use a tool from firecoresoft. But I think the freeware can help you convert wma to mp3.
