Haali Media Splitter + DirectVobSub (xy-VSFilter) + ffdshow video decoder + Ac3 Filter

i don't use codec package. i just download it seperately and tune it to my preference.

Several people seem to use both VLC and MPC-HC. This confuses me :S

I know that VLC can play dvd's region free with out moding the driver or using other region changeing software. So that might be why, but it is odd otherwise..

Well, I personally don't like to put all my eggs into one basket. I rarely use VLC. I've set up MPC-HC to brighten and sharpen pictures, which looks great for animated films, but not always great for live-action pictures. My VLC settings are tweaked to look just right for those films. Since I'm always running playlists, I just find it easier to switch players rather than switch settings. I do this for everything. I have 3 Internet Browsers, 3 image editors; 2 video editors; etcetera; etcetera. I would've had both K-Lite and CCCP installed if those packs didn't conflict with each other.

Ahhh! I do something similar. Have 3 different torrent programs depending on what I am downloading, and to what HDD. MediaMoneky for flac, and iTunes for MP3. I could just use Media Monkey for all, but I prefer to keep flac and MP3 separate for various reasons.

lol that is not a bad idea ... hmm I guess I do the same depending on what machine I am on but I keep all my settings the same, and I dont like to mess with them, mostly because I am too lazy to change them
If I cant play something ... mostly BD I just rip them and play the files I rip from the BD in Media Player Classic
